The new season of the FIL Junior Luge World Cup on Natural Track kicked-off with a double victory for Austria. 

The first race in Obdach-Winterleiten (Styria) Florian Markt prevailed over his team-mate Fabian Achenrainer. Markt drove fastest time in both races. Third place for Florian Haselrieder (ITA), who finished fifth after the first race.

Lisa Walch (GER) won the women competition just ahead of Daniela Mittermair (ITA) and Nadine Staffler (ITA) scored the fastest time in the second run.

A double victory for Austria was also on Wednesday in a doubles: Fabian Achenrainer / Miguel Brugger prevailed clearly against Maximilian Pichler / Mathias Pichler. Third place for the Russians Kirill Kravchuk / Viacheslav Kudriavtsev.

The organizers are very satisfied with the start of the new Junior World Cup-Season and draw a very positive balance: "On the first day it had snowed slightly, but our volunteers had clean the track immediately. Perfect conditions prevailed prevailed on second day", says Hubert Götschl, the head of the organizing comittee. In total, around 70 athletes were at the start.

The next stop in the Junior World Cup is on January 5th and 6th at Alpe di Siusi (ITA).
