Innsbruck (pps) After a serious crash that occurred at the exit of the notorious “Echo Wall” during a training course in Königssee, Austria’s Nina Reithmayer, eighth at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, suffered an initial tearing of her left back cruciate ligament. After an in-depth examination by the knee specialist Dr. Gernot Sperner it is now tried through intensive therapeutical measures to shorten the usually necessary break of three weeks. In any case the 22 years old Reithmayer from Innsbruck, Austria, is not taking part in the International Training Week for the World Championships in Innsbruck-Igls. It is uncertain if Reithmayer can participate in the first Viessmann World Cup in Cesana/Turin on November 18. The decision will be made after a new examination immediately before the beginning of the World Cup season.
