Axel Eger turns 66 - sports journalist and marathon runner retires

Erfurt (FIL) On 22 May 2022, long-time sports and luge journalist Axel Eger of the Thüringer Allgemeine newspaper will celebrate his 66th birthday and say goodbye to retirement. The FIL family congratulates warmly and wishes all the best and good health!

The President of the Thuringian Sports Journalists' Club has accompanied the luge athletes at their title competitions and Olympic Games worldwide for many years and actively driven the fast sport on ice in pointed commentaries, breaking news and with his incredible knowledge of statistics. He will certainly make good use of his retirement as a hobby marathon runner, chess player and mountain climber. We wish him good condition, best health and look forward to seeing him again in the ice arena in Oberhof or on the running meetings and mountains of the republic ;-)
