Podium Team Coompetition in January 2020

The 2020/2021 season will certainly not be a normal season, therefor all athletes, coaches and officials must travel to the World Cup location with a negative corona test, where they will be tested again on the day of arrival. For the first time, the team captains' meeting will be held via video conference.

The World Cup program begins on Wednesday, December 16th, with the training runs. On Thursday from 9.30 a.m. the canceled World Cup in Kühtai (AUT) will be rescheduled, followed by the original World Cup in Winterleiten on Friday from 10 a.m.. The World Cup kick-off comes to an end on Saturday afternoon with the Team Competition. The track in Styria was shortened by around 100 meters this year, and the start was moved downwards. Last year's winners are Evelin Lanthaler (ITA) in the women’s single, Michael Scheikl (AUT) in men’s single, and in the double-seater Pavel Porshnev/Ivan Lazarev (RUS) won. Winning nation at the Team Competition was Austria, followed by Russia and Germany.

Due to the current Corona regulations, the FIL Luge World Cup on natural track will take place without an audience in the 2020/2021 season. All races are broadcast via livestream on the FIL homepage www.fil-luge.org.
