Park City (pps) Give credit where credit is due: The moment the Swiss athlete achieved the feat, people queued up to congratulate. Stefan Hoehener scored Switzerland’s best result ever when he finished third at the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Park City, USA. Germany’s national coach Thomas Schwab was the first to congratulate the 26-year-old because Hoehener and his team-mate Martina Kocher have been training together with the German team within the scope of the FIL Solidarity Programme. The next to felicitate was the Swiss skeleton team who had already arrived for their World Cup race in Park City. And it was a very special occasion when Olympic skeleton champion Maya Bieri-Pedersen congratulated. After all Hoehener, who gained a sixth position at World Championships, has been on a par with the otherwise successful Swiss bobsleigh athletes last weekend. Similar to Hoehener, Ivo Ruegg and brakeman Cedric Grand came third at the bobsleigh World Cup event and Maya Bieri-Pedersen finished the season opener in third place. “I’m really relaxed at the moment”, Hoehener explained his feat. “I’m taking full risks in every run, even the two crashes in training could not stop me.”
