Last year’s top spot on the podium for Huefner, Zoeggeler and Wendl-Arlt
Calgary (pps) One year ago, almost exactly to the day on December 10-11, 2010, Russia’s Viktor Kneyb created quite a surprise when he finished second behind serial winner Armin Zoeggeler of Italy at the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Calgary. Felix Loch of Germany finished in third position at that time. 2009 World champion Erin Hamlin (USA) won a bronze medal in the women’s singles while Germany’s Tatjana Huefner and team-mate Anke Wischnewski contributed another gold and silver to Germany’s medal tally.
The German doubles team with Tobias Wendl-Tobias Arlt celebrated their fifth World Cup victory in Calgary. The Italian doubles Christian Oberstolz-Patrick Gruber as well as Hans-Peter Fischnaller-Patrick Schwienbacher put in a strong performance to claim second and third place respectively. Last year, a Team Relay Event was not on the programme. It is not on the programme this year either.
