Canadian Arianne Jones announces retirement

Calgary (RWH): Arianne Jones of Canada has announced her retirement as an active luge athlete. The athlete, who competed at the 2014 Olympics, shared her decision on her website on 21 September, shortly before her 27th birthday. Her announcement also included some very personal insights into her decision.

The biggest success of Arianne jones was a third-place finish in the BMW Sprint World Cup in her home town of Calgary on 13 December 2015. One year later she won the Nation’s cup at the same place. The race turned out to be one of her last as health problems prevented her from going any further

Arianne Jones took part in five International Luge Federation (FIL) World Championships, where her eighth-place finish on the Olympic track in Whistler (CAN) in 2013 was her best result. She finished 13th at the Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
