Canadian quartet wins team relay in Lake Placid

Lake Placid (RWH) Canada’s lugers have completed their medal collection in Lake Placid. Following on from silver and bronze in the women’s race, the relay foursome of Kimberley McRae, Sam Edney, and Tristan Walker/Justin Snith took victory in the Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW. This was the Canadian team’s third win. The protégés of head coach Wolfgang Staudinger last took victory at the 2015/2016 season finale in Winterberg.

Second place in Lake Placid went to the Russian team of Ekaterina Baturina, Semen Pavlichenko and Andrey Bogdanov/Andrey Medvedev. The host nation came third with Summer Britcher, Tucker West and Matt Mortensen/Jayson Terdiman. The defending champions from Germany, Tatjana Hüfner, Felix Loch and the doubles pairing of Toni Eggert/Sascha Benecken, had to settle for seventh place.
