Canadian team’s unique helmets available via international online auction

Calgary (RWH) The Canadian luge team’s helmets designed as part of last winter’s Helmets for Heroes initiative are now up for sale via an online auction. The international auction is open to all bidders at www.32auctions.com/putalidonitu until 11 October 2016. The proceeds will be donated to the Creative Impact Health Foundation, a charitable organisation.
Canada’s luge team, including the two-time World Championship bronze medallist Alex Gough, fifth-placed Olympian Kim McRae, and the doubles pairing of Tristan Walker and Justin Snith (fourth at the Olympics), launched the Put A Lid On It initiative during the 2015/2016 winter season. Children and young people who themselves had suffered brain injuries designed helmets for the athletes to wear. All members of the national team wore the distinctive headgear at every round of the Viessmann World Cup and during the International Luge Federation (FIL) World Championships.
