(ck) - One of the activities prior to the World Championships in St. Sebastian (AUT) this coming season was a charity soccer game for Gerhard Kleinhofer Jr. who became seriously sick in February 2014 and needs full time care ever since. In the neighboring city of Mariazell a team of former Austrian National Team soccer players like Markus Schopp, Günther Neukirchner or Ferdinand Feldhofer met the luge team with Patrick Pigneter, Thomas Kammerlander, Anton Blasbichler, Florian Clara, Christoph Regensburger, Florian Breitenberger, Tobias Angerer and Robert Batkowski. The elite world cup racers showed up almost complete. The game ended 6:3 for the former soccer team players. However, Tobias Angerer scored a perfect hat-trick with all three goals for the luge team in front of approximately 500 spectators. All funds from donations, food sales and an auction were given to the Kleinhofer family.
