Congratulations on 100 years of IBSF

St. Moritz (FIL/06 Feb 2023) On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the IBSF, a big anniversary celebration took place during the Bobsleigh & Skeleton World Championships in St. Moritz/Celerina in January 2023. FIL President Einars Fogelis and Honorary President Josef Fendt were invited to the 100th anniversary celebration of the IBSF in St. Moritz and presented the congratulations of the International Luge Federation, FIL.
Einars Fogelis praised the "constructive and good cooperation" of the two international winter sports federations, thanked them for it and presented a commemorative gift.

In 1923, the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (IBSF), originally Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing (FIBT), was founded. The following year, a four-man bobsled race was held at the very first Winter Olympics in Chamonix, France. A two-man bobsleigh competition was added at the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid (USA).
