The overall victory in the Junior World Cup can hardly be taken away from the Italian Daniel Gruber. The 19-year-old celebrated his third win of the season in the third race of the FIL Junior Luge World Cup on natural track in Navis (AUT).

Sebastian Feldhammer (AUT) follows in second place, 0.71 seconds behind, with Fabian Brunner (ITA/+0.76 seconds) third. In the overall standings, Gruber leads before the finale on the last weekend in January in Umhausen (AUT) with 300 points, followed by Brunner (210) and Feldhammer (201).

In the women’s singles, victory went to Riccarda Ruetz (AUT). The local hero outclassed the competition in the first run, in the second run the second best time was enough for the Tyrolean to celebrate her second victory of the season in the third race. Second place for Sarah Schiller (GER), winner of the opening event, with the best time in the finale run. Ivonne Müller (ITA) finished third, 1.04 seconds behind the winner.

Ruetz leads the overall standings with 285 points, ahead of Müller (210) and Jenny Castiglioni (ITA/190). Schiller follows in fourth place with 185 points.

In the doubles, the winning streak of Anton Gruber Genetti/Hannes Unterholzner (ITA) continued. In 1.09,15 minutes they edged out the Russians Aleksandr Bashko/Aleksandr Kalitov (+0.05 seconds). With third place, the Slovenians Matevz Vertelj/Vid Kralj (+0.56 seconds) are happy about their first podium of the season after two fourth places.

After their third win of the season, Gruber Genetti/Unterholzner lead the overall ranking with 300 points ahead of the Slovaks Peter Neupauer/Dominik Neupauer (210) and Vertelj/Kralj (190).
