Calgary (pps) Germany’s David Möller is just one more time the winner of the Viessmann Luge World Cup at Calgary. The World Champion won his 4th race at Canada Olympic Park (COP), celebrated his 6th overall, and return backs to Europe for the first time ever as the leader of the overall standings in Viessmann Luge World cup.
Möller won in a total time of one minute 30,390 seconds followed by his team-mate Jan Eichhorn (0,023 seconds back) and two-time Olympic Champion Armin Zöggeler (0,061 back) from Italy. Canada’s Jeff Christie finished on 6th place and equalized his best ever result, which he realized last year at the same track.
David Möller (World Champion 2004 and 2007)
„This was the most difficult win of all times. It was all the time one of my dreams to wear the yellow bip of the World Cup Leader, this dream now came true. I’m just thinking from rece and race.”
Jan Eichhorn (Bronze Medallist of the Worlds 2007)
„I have not lost the first place, I have won the second place. I’m not sad, that I lost the lead after the second run. So far my best result ever at Calgary was 11th place. With the new material I discovered my love to this track.“
Armin Zöggeler (two-time Olympic Champion)
„Even the conditions with the wind have been very difficult, the race was much better then expected. I’m confident with the 3rd place.”
