Innsbruck-Igls (pps) Germany’s David Möller opened the season of the SUZUKI Challenge Cup with a big bang. The two-times World Champion advanced in the preliminary round the nearly nine year old Track Record of Austria’s Markus Prock. Möller pushed the time of 48,679 seconds down to 48,533 seconds. In the final the Bronze Medalist of the World 2008 won in front of Italy’s two-times Olympic Champion Armin Zöggeler and received price money of 2.000 Euro.

The Women’s race was won by two-times World Champion Tatjana Hüfner from Germany. She bat in 39,787 seconds in the final her teammate and European Champion Natalie Geisenberger (39,925). Third place went to Austria’s Veronika Halder.

Austria’s two-times World Champions Tobias Schiegl/Markus Schiegl made the host happy. The Bronze Medalists of the Worlds 2008 (39,627) won the final ahead Germany’s four-times World Champion Patric Leitner /Alexander Resch (39,755).
