World Championships in Innsbruck-Igls as highlight of junior schedule

Berchtesgaden (pps) The Junior World Championships in Innsbruck-Igls will be the highlight of the 2009/2010 junior luge season. On January 30 and 31, 2010, the titles will be awarded for the 24th time. It will be the fourth Junior World Championships to be held at the Olympic track at the foot of the Patscherkofel mountain.

The junior season will start with a premiere: The first international competition will be staged at the artificial luge track in Paramonovo outside the Russian capital Moscow. The season’s first two Junior World Cups will be held there from December 7 to 12, 2009. The season’s other events will take place in Sigulda (December 18/19, 2009), Königssee (January 15/16, 2010), Oberhof (January 22/23, 2010), and Winterberg (February 5/6, 2010).

As in previous years, Marie-Luise Rainer will be employed as Technical Delegate at all junior competitions.
