Armin Zöggeler and David Möller in the lead of the overall standings
Sigulda (pps) Russia’s Albert Demtschenko destroyed a small jubilee for Italy’s Olympic Champion Armin Zöggeler. The Olympic Silver Medalist avoided at the Viessmann Luge World Cup the tenth victory of the 34 year old athlete from South Tyrol at Sigulda (Latvia). So far Armin Zöggeler had won eight races at Viessmann World Cup and the Gold Medal at the Worlds 2003, Zöggeler won his tenth race at the artificial track at Latvia.
Demtschenko, who ha d a crash at the season’s opener at Igls won in a total time of one minute 39,265 seconds. Second place went to Zöggeler (0,146 seconds back). Thanks to his third place Germany’s David Möller (0,235 back) took the lead in the overalls standings together with Zöggeler. Both captured in two races of Viessmann World Cup 155 points.
