Innsbruck-Igls (pps) Germany’s lugers celebrated a double victory in the men’s singles and Dominik Fischnaller of Italy, winner of the season opener last week in Lillehammer (Norway), posted a third-place finish: At the second stop of the Viessmann Luge World Cup series in Innsbruck-Igls (Austria), Olympic Champion Felix Loch earned his first victory this season. He now has 14 individual World Cup victories to his credit. Loch’s compatriot David Moeller finished in second position – the same result as last week at the World Cup in Lillehammer.

Felix Loch
(GER / 2010 Olympic Champion, 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013 World Champion, 2013 European Champion, overall winner in the Viessmann Luge World Cup in 2012-2013)
“First of all it’s great to have made the podium’s top spot again. I would have liked to have earned the same result in Lillehammer but I’ve made a mistake there. Dominik Fischnaller will be a challenging adversary in the future – that much is clear.”
David Moeller
(GER / 2010 Olympic silver medalist, two-time World Champion)
“Every one of us is fighting for a ticket to the Olympic Games. This is why I’m happy that I got the better of my team mates in the German national team – with the exception of Felix. I’m really pleased with two second second-place finishes.”

“It’s really a great start into the season. I wouldn’t mind to keep going this way. But then I only take one race at a time.”
