Munich (pps) The exciting doubles competitions scored the best television ratings of the Viessmann Luge World Cup in the Olympic season. With market shares of 20.5 percent recorded at the Viessmann World Cups in Altenberg (December 5, 2009) and Winterberg (January 9, 2010) the doubles competitions achieved the luge season’s best television ratings.
With 3.79 million viewers, the team relay held in Oberhof on January 17, 2010 attracted the greatest number of spectators to German television screens. For women’s singles the season’s best viewing rate was recorded in Oberhof on January 16, with 3.31 million spectators (market share of 20.2 %). The most widely seen race in men’s singles took place in Winterberg on January 9, 2010, with 2.71 million viewers and a market share of 12.5 percent.
The broadcasts of all of the season’s Viessmann World Cups reached double figure market shares in Germany.
