Berchtesgaden (FIL/19. Apr. 2024) The International Luge Federation (FIL) published the race calendar for the 2024/2025 artificial track season on February 19, 2024. Only the venue for the EBERSPAECHER World Cup final was still open at the time.

"In the meantime, we have been able to clarify all open questions and have reached an agreement with our sports friends from China. They will organize the luge World Cup finals from February 21 to 23, 2025 on the 2022 Olympic track at the Yanqing Sliding Center", FIL Sport Director Matthias Böhmer announced on April 19, 2024.

A total of nine EBERSPAECHER Luge World Cup weeks are planned over a period of almost three months, from the beginning of December 2024 to the end of February 2025. Races will take place from Friday to Sunday according to Central European Time (CET).

Starting signal in Norway, season highlight in Canada

The starting shot will be fired in December on the 1994 Olympic track in Lillehammer, Norway, while the World Cup final will be held at the end of February 2025 at the Yanqing Olympic Sliding Center in China. The highlight of the season will be the 53rd FIL World Championships from February 5 to 8, 2025 on the 2010 Olympic track in Whistler, Canada.

The calendar planning was developed by the FIL sports management in cooperation with the Sustainability Working Group (WG Sustainability). In addition to the climatic conditions and travel routes, special attention was paid to the planning and organization of joint sled transport for all nations with FIL logistics partner DHL.

Whistler Sliding Centre, Canada

The world's best luge athletes will open the EBERSPAECHER World Cup series from November 29 to December 1, 2024 in Lillehammer (NOR) and then continue their journey through Europe, with stops in Innsbruck (AUT) and Oberhof (GER). World Cup points will be contested in Tyrol from December 6 to 8, followed by further competitions in Thuringia from December 13 to 15.

The Christmas break will be followed by races in Sigulda, Latvia (January 3 to 5, 2025) and then on the German tracks in Altenberg (January 10 to 12), Winterberg (January 17 to 19) and Oberhof again (January 24 to 26).

After an international training week on the World Championship track in Canada, the 53rd FIL World Championships will take place in Whistler.

Immediately afterwards, the world's best lugers will travel to Asia for the last two EBERSPAECHER World Cups. From February 14 to 16, the eighth World Cup will be held on the 2018 Olympic track in PyeongChang, Korea, and one week later the World Cup final will be held in Asia as well. The Yanqing Olympic Sliding Center of the 2022 Games will host this event in China.

The artificial track racing calendar for the 2024/2025 season promises exciting competitions and thrilling action on three continents from the beginning of December 2024 to the end of February 2025. Here is an overview of the calendar:
