Quotes

Toni Eggert (GER / 2017 World Champion, 2018 Olympic bronze medallist, three-time winner of the overall World Cup):

“We like this track and love racing here. At this track, not everyone with a fast sled can make it to the finish line. We can. Considering my history, by that I mean my injury, it’s pretty miraculous that we are now leading the overall World Cup standings.”

Tobias Wendl (GER / Doubles Olympic Champion in 2014 and 2018, Team Relay Olympic Champion in 2014 and 2018, three-time World Champion in the doubles, gold medallist in the Sprint World Championships in 2016 and 2017):

“This is our second-best result in Lake Placid. We won here in the past but didn’t know why at the time.”

Thomas Steu (AUT / fourth place in the 2018 Olympics):

“We've never been this good in Lake Placid. We’ve only ever finished seventh or eighth place in the past. All in all, we are doing very well. Our hard work is paying off.”
