Lausanne (FIL/29 Nov. 2022) The International Federations (IF) Forum on November 28-29 is organized by SportAccord and supported by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The theme of the event is "International Federation Impact - Safe Sport and Sustainable Development."

It is a two-day event with targeted thematic sessions of particular value to participating IFs. The IF Forum is an invitation-only event for international sports federations, guest speakers and exclusive official IF Forum partners.

IOC President Dr. Thomas Bach is convinced: "A new world order is emerging. This new world order will be more divisive than the one we in the Olympic Movement are striving for. This unfortunate trend alarms us because it runs counter to our Olympic mission of peace. But it is precisely in these divisive and confrontational times that people around the world are looking for a unifying force that will bring all of humanity together. That is exactly what the Olympic Movement can provide. We unite the whole world in peaceful competition."

"For all of our sports, especially those that are played outdoors, climate change has become a real issue. From winters in the mountains to summers in the cities, we can see and feel the effects of this climate change. We need to think not only about our own impact, but also about our ability to bring back benefits. We know that sport can be a vehicle for positive social change. Our planet needs us to act and encourage action," adds Ivo Ferriani, President of SportAccord and GAISAF.

"This forum has a very special meaning. It takes place in turbulent times. Conflicts and wars, a global pandemic, climate change and economic uncertainty. We are challenged more than ever to work together. We look forward to working together with the IOC and the other IFs," said FIL President Einars Fogelis.
