Lake Placid (RWH) Emily Sweeney and Chris Mazdzer (both USA) are the new title holders following the International Luge Federation’s (FIL) 8th America Pacific Championships. In the women’s event, Emily Sweeney beat her team mates Summer Britcher and Brittney Arndt to first place on the artificial ice track in Lake Placid.  The Olympic silver medallist Chris Mazdzer won the men’s race, beating his team mates Tucker West and Jonathan Gustafson.

In the doubles event, Canada’s Tristan Walker/Justin Snith won their battle against the US pairing of Chris Mazdzer/Jayson Terdiman. However, the number of registered sleds did not meet the three sleds needed under the regulations, meaning that no title was awarded.

The FIL’s America Pacific Championships took the form of a race-in-race event with the Viessmann World Cup.
