Emily Sweeney, Tucker West and Walker/Snith claim APC titles

Whistler (RWH) Emily Sweeney, Tucker West (all USA) and Canada’s Tristan Walker/Justin Snith are the new title holders following the International Luge Federation’s  9th America Pacific Championships.

Emily Sweeney successfully defended her title in the women’s event. Second and third place went to young Canadians Carolyn Maxwell and Makena Hodgson. Tucker West won the men’s race on the 2010 Olympic track in Whistler. The Olympic silver medallist Chris Mazdzer finished in second place ahead of Reid Watts of Canada.

In the doubles, Canada’s Tristan Walker/Justin Snith won their battle against the US pairing of Chris Mazdzer/Jayson Terdiman. Third place went to Caitlin Nash/Natalie Corless from Canada, the first ever women’s doubles pairing in the Viessmann World Cup. The FIL’s America Pacific Championships took the form of a race-in-race event in tandem with the Viessmann World Cup.
