Park City (RWH) Following their success at Lake Placid, Erin Hamlin and Chris Mazdzer have been revelling in their success ahead of the second consecutive Viessmann World Cup on American soil in Park City, Utah. The pair head to the ice track at the Utah Olympic Park at the top of the overall standings in the Viessmann World Cup. It’s the first time two American sliders have held the leader’s bibs simultaneously. In doubles, Toni Eggert/Sascha Benecken are currently wearing the yellow jersey given to the athletes at the top of the standings, having taken two wins to date in the winter of 2015/2016. Park City will also be the venue for the first International Luge Federation (FIL) BMW Sprint of the season.

After two of 12 events, Olympic bronze medallist Erin Hamlin has 146 points, giving her a slender lead over Olympic Champion Natalie Geisenberger (GER / 145) and European Champion Dajana Eitberger (GER / 139). In the men’s singles, just two points separate Chris Mazdzer (142 points) from Austrian slider Wolfgang Kindl (140). Italy’s Dominik Fischnaller currently lies third (132). In the doubles, Eggert/Benecken have a perfect score of 200, trailed in second place by the Austrian duo of Peter Penz/Georg Fischler (170) and Latvians Andris Sics/Juris Sics (125) in third.
