Erin Hamlin, Chris Mazdzer and Walker/Snith win gold

Calgary (RWH) The winners of the American-Pacific Championships 2016 staged by the International Luge Federation (FIL) are Erin Hamlin, Chris Mazdzer (both USA), and Tristan Walker/Justin Snith (CAN). The Championships were decided using a race-in-race format at the Viessmann World Cup in Calgary.
Erin Hamlin, the 2009 World Champion and Olympic bronze medallist in 2014, managed to defend the title she won the previous year. Summer Britcher finished second ahead of Canadian slider Kim McRae. In the men’s event, Mazdzer relegated his teammate Tucker West and Canadian Mitchel Malyk into second and third places respectively. In the doubles, the defending champions Matthew Mortensen/Jayson Terdiman clinched silver behind Walker/Snith. Bronze went to Justin Krewson/Andrew Sherk.
