Erin Hamlin, Dominik Fischnaller and Eggert/Benecken win the BMW Sprint World Cup

Park City (RWH) USA’s former World Champion Erin Hamlin, the Italian Dominik Fischnaller, and the doubles pairing of Toni Eggert/Sascha Benecken (GER) have won the BMW Sprint World Cup in Park City, Utah. Tatjana Hüfner (GER), Russian luger Roman Repilov, and Eggert/Benecken will spend Christmas at the top of the overall Viessmann World Cup standings.

The next Viessmann World Cup event will take place on the artificial ice track in Königssee on 5 and 6 January after the Christmas break.

Just a few hours after winning the women’s Viessmann World Cup, Erin Hamlin also clinched victory in the BMW Sprint Cup in Park City to take the fourth individual win of her career. The 2009 World Champion again relegated her compatriot Emily Sweeney to second place. Tatjana Hüfner (GER) finished third to reclaim her lead in the overall standings. The 2010 Olympic Champion now leads with 430 points, ahead of her teammate Natalie Geisenberger (412). Olympic bronze medallist Hamlin moves up to third place on 374 points.

Dominik Fischnaller took his third individual victory at the BMW Sprint World Cup. The South Tyrolean relegated Roman Repilov and German Andi Langenhan to second and third places respectively. Repilov now leads the overall standings with 407 points, ahead of Felix Loch, who finished fourth in the sprint race.

Toni Eggert/Sascha Benecken have managed five wins from six races as the season enters the Christmas break. The three-time World Championship silver medallists won the BMW Sprint World Cup ahead of their teammates and Olympic Champions Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt, and the American pairing of Matt Mortensen/Jayson Terdiman. Eggert and Benecken now lead the overall Viessmann World Cup standings on 570 points ahead of Wendl/Arlt (467). Third place is currently occupied by another German duo, Robin Geueke/David Gamm (375).
