Ethics Code agreed at 64th FIL Congress

(RWH) An Ethics Code has been agreed at the 64th Congress of the International Luge Federation (FIL) in Lake Placid. This code defines the values and principles that govern the conduct and dealings within the world federation and with external organisations. FIL Legal Counsel Dr Christian Krähe, who developed the code of conduct in conjunction with Norbert Hiedl (GER), gave delegates a general outline of the code.
The FIL Congress mandated the Legal Committee to take over the tasks of the FIL Ethics Commission temporarily until next Congress 2017. In addition to this, the chairperson of the Legal Committee temporarily takes over the tasks of the FIL Ethics Authority. The FIL Ethics Commissioner and the FIL Ethics Commission will each be elected at the Congress held in the same year as the next Olympic Winter Games.
