Cesana-Pariol (pps) Latvia’s Relay wrote a small chapter of Luge History. For the first time ever on the schedule at the European Champion Ships at Cesana-Pariol team Latvia in the line-up with Andris Sics/Juris Sics, Maija Tiruma and Martins Rubenis won the Gold Medal. They had an advantage of just eight thousands of a second ahead Austria with Andreas Linger/Wolfgang Linger, Veronika Halder and Martin Abentung. Third Place went to Italy in the line-up with Gerhard Plankensteiner/Oswald Haselrieder, Sandra Gasparini und Armin Zöggeler.
For the first time ever at the Europeans Germany missed on 4th place a medal in the Team competition.
