Berchtesgaden (pps) The International Luge Federation, FIL, is continuing its reforms. At their meeting last weekend, the FIL Executive Board accepted the proposal of the Sports Commission to test a relay competition in the coming winter. After a first attempt on the track at Koenigssee, Germany, last winter, the relay race should be tested in competition in the 2004-2005 season.

In a relay race one man, one woman and one doubles slide down the track one after the other upon consideration of all safety aspects. The start will be cleared by a stoplight signal, while the time is running on. The relay with the best time will win.

“By the introduction of the relay race we think that our events will get even more exciting”, FIL President Josef Fendt said.
