Torino (pps) The meeting with the Organisers of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino represented the central point during a session of the Executive Committee of the International Luge Federation, FIL. The already close co-operation between FIL and the Organising Committee, TOROC, has been further intensified during the three day-long meeting. On this occasion, the FIL Executive Committee with its President Josef Fendt met the new TOROC Sports Director, Tullio Paratore. During a visit of the construction site in Cesana under the guidance of Ivo Ferriani, within TOROC responsible for the luge, bobsleigh and skeleton competitions, the FIL Executive Committee satisfied itself that the completion of Italy’s first artificial track is carried out at full speed. Ivo Ferrani explained that workers operate in several multiple shifts and even on weekends in order to complete the track. Should everything go according to plan, the track will celebrate its Olympic trial at the Viessmann World Cup Final in February 2005.
