Moscow (pps) The construction of Russia’s first artificial luge track located outside Moscow is making great progress.
According to information from Valeri Silakov, president of the Russian Luge Federation and Executive Board member of the International Luge Federation (FIL), a stretch of 400 meters of the new facility has already been built. The completion of the track is expected for the end of the current year. First test events are planned for February/March next year. In the 2008/2009 pre-Olympic winter, the Russian Federation plans to stage the first international event on the new artificial luge track.
