Expert Commissions meet in Vienna on 15 May 2021

Vienna (FIL) On Saturday, 15 May 2021, the FIL Expert Commissions will meet in the Austrian capital Vienna. The majority of the members of the commissions will be present on site under strict hygiene regulations. Only a few commission members from overseas will be connected online for the meetings.

In the Sport Commission for Artificial Track, Commission Chair FIL Vice-President Claire DelNegro and Sport Director Maria-Luise Rainer will, in addition to the annual agenda items, focus on the introduction of the discipline women's doubles  in the General Class. Furthermore, the strategic plan "Slide 2026" will be an important item on the agenda. The main topics will be the external presentation of the sport of luge and the race formats. Furthermore, recommendations of the Sport Commission to the FIL Executive Board for the organisation of the FIL World Championships 2025 (with four applicants) will be given.

The chair of the Technical Commission for Artificial Track is FIL Vice President for Technology Armin Zoeggeler and his deputy is Technical Director Christian Eigentler. On the agenda for the meeting on May 15, apart from the follow-up of the past season, is above all the technical further development of the standard doubles sleds. 
In addition, the first implementation steps of the FIL strategy paper "Slide 2026" with further standardisation of sled material and component groups, with the main focus on easier learnability and safety, are on the agenda. 

The Natural Track Commission will meet under the direction of the responsible FIL Vice President Peter Knauseder on May 22 in Innsbruck. Topics for this meeting include the future and development of the strategy for natural track luge.
