Berchtesgaden (pps) The course for the 54th Congress of the International Luge Federation (FIL), which will be held in Berchtesgaden on June 29/30, has been set. At the past weekend, the four expert commissions of the FIL met at the Kur- und Kongresshaus (Congress Center) in Berchtesgadeen and dealt with motions of national federations to improve the rules of both artificial and natural track luge. Only motions that received a two-thirds majority within the commissions may be submitted to the Congress. FIL President Josef Fendt characterized the work of the expert commissions as “extremely constructive “.

On the arrival day, the mayor of Berchtesgaden, Rudi Schaupp, had invited the representatives of 16 nations to a cocktail reception. On this occasion, he emphasized the significance of the upcoming Congress for Berchtesgaden and acknowledged the work of FIL President Josef Fendt.
