Salzburg (pps) On June 23, 2005, Robert F. Storey (Canada), President of the International Bobsleigh Federation (FIBT), and Josef Fendt (Germany), President of the International Luge Federation (FIL), will meet in Berchtesgaden for summit talks regarding the planned structural changes to the future Olympic track in Cesana for the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin (Italy). This was announced by Fendt at the FIL event organizers’ meeting held in Salzburg on June 3, 2005. In the past few years, it had always been the track construction commissions of both federations who had agreed on changes. For the first time, there will now be top level talks regarding this issue.

At a meeting between FIL, representatives of the Organizing Committee for the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin (Toroc) headed by President Valentino Castellani, representatives of Agenzia Torino 2006 as well as Udo Gurgel, the constructor of the facilities, it was agreed to modify the lower part of the artificially-refrigerated track in Cesana Pariol by October 2005 at the latest, in order to make it safer for athletes participating in the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin.
