Rio de Janeiro /Brazil (pps) Josef Feistmantl and Hans Rinn are the most recent nominees for the International Luge Federation’s “Hall of Fame”. On the occasion of the 52nd Congress in Rio de Janeiro, FIL President Josef Fendt (Germany) an-nounced the admission of the 1964 Olympic doubles champion (partner: Manfred Stengl) from Austria and the two-time Olympic doubles champion (1976 and 1980) (partner: Norbert Hahn). Feistmantl, today working as an optometrist, furthermore captured the 1969 World Championship title in the singles and the 1967 European doubles title, again with Manfred Stengl. Rinn, busy as service man on behalf of the FIL at the Viessmann Luge World Cup and thus still closely connected with the luge sport, captured the 1973 and 1977 World championship titles in the singles as well as the European doubles titles in 1975, 1978 and 1980 together with Norbert Hahn. The „Hall of Fame“ has been inaugurated in 2003 upon suggestion by FIL Vice President Claire del Negro, USA. The first lugers to be admitted on the occasion of the 2004 European Championships in Oberhof were Margit Schumann, Klaus Bonsack (both Germany) and Italy’s Paul Hildgartner.
