FIL and ORIS have successfully completed the homologation tests for Beijing 2022

ORIS-Meeting 2021, Madrid

Madrid (FIL) Last week, FIL Vice President for Sport Claire DelNegro, Sport Director Maria-Luise Rainer and Technical Director Christian Eigentler were in Madrid (Spain) for the ORIS meeting. ORIS stands for "Olympic Results and Information Services".

Representatives from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Beijing 2022 Organising Committee, Atos (the IOC's information technology partner), timekeeping partner OMEGA and representatives from major global press agencies were on site in Spain for the meetings.

In various consultations and simulations, the homologation tests for the luge competitions of the XXIV Olympic Winter Games in Beijing in February 2022 were evaluated, documented and concluded positively.

Claire DelNegro: "The testing for ORIS was hosted by ATOS at their labs, with our colleagues from Beijing joining us remotely.  It was greatly appreciated by FIL that we were able to conduct all the necessary tests under these extenuating circumstances but still with excellent conditions, as we could not be on site in China.  We feel assured now that everything from the technology side is in alignment with our rules and processes and we look forward to a successful integration at Games time”.
