Eggert / Benecken, Oberhof

St. Moritz (FIL) The disqualification of Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken, after their crash at the 6th EBERSPÄCHER World Cup in Winterberg, has been annulled for formal reasons.

After the disqualification was lifted and changed to DNF (did not finish), Eggert/Benecken will receive 16 World Cup points for the race in Winterberg.

This decision shortens the gap between the German doubles World Champions and the brothers Andris and Juris Sics, who are leading in the overall World Cup before the last race in St. Moritz.

In the overall doubles' World Cup, the race between the Latvian brothers Andris and Juris Sics (LAT) and the German World Champions Eggert/Benecken will be decided on Saturday, 22 January in St. Moritz. After the annulment of the disqualification of Eggert/Benecken, the two Latvians are still in first place with a 21-point lead.
