FIL commissions largely unchanged

Riga (RWH) Few changes have been made to the various artificial track commissions of the International Luge Federation (FIL). In addition to the members elected at the 66th FIL Congress, the FIL Executive Board has appointed additional members to various commissions at its autumn meeting in Riga.
The new members of the Commission for Youth/Development are General Secretary Einars Fogelis (LAT / Photo) as Chair, Mark Hatton (GBR), Zintis Saisans (LAT), and Sandra Lembert (AUT). The American Tony Carlino, track manager at Lake Placid, has been newly appointed to the Track Construction Commission. Italy’s Walter Plaikner is the FIL’s Chief Commissioner for track construction for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing (CHN). Commission Chair Markus Aschauer (GER) is not involved in this project for the FIL.
The Sport Commission has two new members in Russian Artemi Rodionov and Liechtenstein’s Wolfgang Schädler, who works as a coach in China. New arrivals on the Technical Commission are Lubomir Mick (CZE), who works as a coach in the USA and was elected at the Congress, and the Austrian Peter Penz, Oswald Haselrieder from Italy, and Bernhard Glass (GER), who works as a coach in Canada.
