Altenberg (pps) The International Luge Federation, FIL, is on a good path to eliminate the last “blank spot” on its map of Member Federations. As FIL President Josef Fendt explained during the FIL Media Seminar in Altenberg, the FIL has entered discussions on the inclusion of South Africa. To date, South Africa is the only continent on which the FIL is not yet represented. “I’m optimistic that we will reach a good result and that the FIL will be represented in Africa in the future,” explained Fendt. Currently, the International Luge Federation counts 53 member federations on four continents. During the FIL Congress in July 2011, Tonga became the latest “addition” to the FIL luge family.
