Oslo (RWH) On 17 and 18 May, Norway’s capital city Oslo will host the last ever meeting of the International Luge Federation (FIL) Executive Board to be attended by outgoing Secretary General Svein Romstad. The US citizen with roots in Norway will be giving up his post at the 66th FIL Congress in Bratislava (Slovakia) in mid-June. He asked for one Executive Board meeting to be held in Oslo before he leaves the board. The meeting is set to cover a number of issues related to the next congress as well as the upcoming winter of sport.

The meeting will also name the venues for the continental championships for artificial track events in the 2018/2019 season, decide on the final calendar for artificial and natural track events, and discuss the Executive Board’s proposals for the congress. Furthermore, the Executive Board will also appoint the members of the various juries and Technical Delegates for the fields of natural and artificial tracks.

The President of Norway’s national association Harald Rolfsen and its Secretary General Thomas Vasteraas have played key roles in preparing for the meeting of the Executive Board.
