FIL Executive Board Meets in Salzburg
These are eventful weeks for the senior representatives of the International Luge Federation. President Einars Fogelis recently travelled to Lyon to attend the Alpes 2030 Coordination Commission Meeting, chaired by the IOC. For him and all other members of the FIL Executive Board, further significant days are on the agenda on 22 and 23 September.
The Executive Board meeting will cover, among other things, the financial report presented by Vice President Philipp Trattner. Secretary General Dwight Bell and Fogelis himself will share updates on the IOC's "Fit for the Future" programme as well as the current state of preparations for the Olympic Winter Games Alpes 2030 and the Youth Olympic Games 2028 in Cortina.
On the proposal of directors and commission chairs, additional members may be admitted to these bodies. Two nations have also submitted applications to join the FIL – FIL Executive Director Christoph Schweiger will report on this.
Further items on the agenda include the schedule for the FIL Congress 2027, which will be held in hybrid format, the host venue for the 2031 Artificial Track World Championships, and the FIL Anti-Doping Code. The meeting will also serve as preparation for the FIL Extraordinary Congress on 12 November 2026.
