Berchtesgaden (RWH) Last weekend, 11–13 April, the various commissions of the International Luge Federation (FIL) convened in the Austrian village of St Leonhard. The agenda covered changes to the rules for artificial and natural tracks, adjustments to the FIL racing calendar, and a discussion of ideas and suggestions for new racing formats. During the meeting of the Sports Commission, Claire DelNegro (USA), Vice President Sport Artificial Track, presented the head of the commission Sepp Benz with a thank you letter signed by all of its members. Benz, who collected gold in the two-man bobsleigh at the 1980 Winter Olympics, has headed the commission since the death of Karl Zenker. Before that the Swiss athlete ran the youth commission “AG Jugend” for many years.
