FIL Honorary President Josef Fendt now Honorary Member of the IBSF

Lausanne (IBSF/FIL) FIL Honorary President Josef Fendt was appointed Honorary Member of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) at the World  Congress in Lausanne on 15 July 2022. 

"Sepp Fendt was always a loyal partner of the IBSF during his more than 20 years as FIL President when it came to the interests of the sport of luge in general. His great experience on the international level helped our federation especially in the last twelve years. It is therefore an honour for us to accept him as an honorary member of the IBSF on the basis of his services to the Sliding Sport," said IBSF President Ivo Ferriani in his laudation during the IBSF Congress at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

"I was completely surprised - this was a great honour today at the IBSF Congress, for which I thank Ivo Ferriani and the IBSF leadership very much. You can tell by the increasing number of honours that you are getting old," said the youngest honorary member of the IBSF with a smile. "I am extremely pleased to receive this award. We have always had a friendly and collegial cooperation," said Josef Fendt.
