FIL Medal of Honour in Gold for Karl Flacher

Salzburg (FIL) Austria's Karl Flacher has been awarded the Gold Medal of Honour of the International Luge Federation (FIL). In recognition of his merits, FIL President Einars Fogelis and General Secretary Dwight Bell presented the award at the 69th FIL Congress in Salzburg. Flacher worked for 23 years as the responsible luge coach in the FIL development programme natural track.

Petr Kinzl, Vlasta Vavnroskova (both CZE) and Bruno Kammerlander (AUT) received the silver award.

Senad Omanovic (BIH), Erich Batkowski, Sandra Lembert, Markus Prock, Markus Schmidt and Hubert Götschl (all AUT) were awarded the bronze medal.

The personalities awarded at the FIL Online Congress in November 2020 were able to receive their medals of honour at the 69th FIL Congress in Salzburg on 24 September 2021. These were Gerhard Kirchner and Wolfgang Harder with the silver medal and Hans Jürgen Köhne and Wolfgang Ros with the bronze award.
