FIL mourns Honorary Vice President Tsuguto Kitano

Tokyo (RWH) The International Luge Federation FIL mourns Honorary Vice President Tsuguto Kitano. The long-time president of the Japanese federation died on 16 December 2015 in Tokyo, aged 92.

Tsuguto Kitano, for many years head of an international building and hotel company („Kitano Group“), significantly promoted the sport of luge in Japan and Asia. Furthermore, he promoted Nagano as candidate city for hosting the 1998 Olympic Winter Games. After the International Olympic Comittee IOC decided in favour of Nagano, Kitano also played an important role in the successful organization of the 1998 Winter Games.
