Berchtesgaden (pps) The President of the International Luge Federation, FIL, Josef Fendt has returned from an "educational" trip to Brazil. On this occasion the 1976 Olympic runner-up met the president of the National Olympic Committee of Brazil, Carlos A. Nuzmann, the sport director of Rio as well as the President of Brazils Luge Federation in Rio de Janeiro. The further development of the sport of luge in South America (with the countries Argentina, Brasil, Chile and Venezuela) was a major topic.
Rio de Janeiro is a candidate for the organisation of the 2012 Olympic Summer Games.
