FIL president Fendt meets Russian Deputy Sports Minister in Moscow

Moscow (RWH)  The President of the International Luge Federation (FIL), Germany’s Josef Fendt, met with the Russian Deputy Minister of Sport, Tourism and Youth, Yuri Nagornykh, during a visit to Russia. The focus of the meeting, which was also attended by Natalia Gart, President of the Russian National Association, was on the development of the sport of luge in Russia.

Russia hosted two luge events last winter: the Viessmann Luge World Cup on the Olympic track in Sochi and a Natural Track World Cup in Moscow. Russia would like to remain an integral fixture of the International Luge Federation’s sporting calendar in future.

Fendt arrived in Moscow on 6 April accompanied by Rudi Größwang, the owner of the sports agency RGS. In addition to meeting with President Natalia Gart, Fendt also paid a visit to Moscow’s natural luge track.
