Berlin (pps) The President of the International Luge Federation (FIL), Josef Fendt from Berchtesgaden, will attend the SportAccord Congress, which is scheduled to take place in the German capital of Berlin from April 16 to 20, 2005. On this occasion, the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will discuss again reforms of the Olympic program of the 2012 Olympic Winter Games.

The outcome will be based on a survey, which was made for the first time and comprised the questioning of the 28 Olympic Summer Sports Federations as well as those federations who applied for the inclusion of their sports in the Olympic program (golf, rollersports, rugby, karate and squash). The final report on the revision of the Olympic summer sports program is expected to be published in June 2005. On the occasion of a special IOC session held in Mexico in 2002, it was decided to limit the number of sports admitted to the Olympic Games to 28, the number of competitions to 300 and the number of athletes to 10,500 in the future. Furthermore, in accordance with the Olympic Charta, the Olympic program is planned to be analyzed in detail following each Games.
