Lausanne (FIL) Josef Fendt, the President of the International Luge Federation (FIL), visited Jacques Rogge, the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne on February 12. During an official meeting, Fendt emphasized once again the FIL’s long-held wish to include natural track luge in the program of the Olympic Winter Games. Besides, Fendt informed the IOC President that the FIL will apply for the inclusion of the Team Relay Competition artificial track in the Olympic program. The Team Relay Competition is a new competition format, which was successfully staged in this season. Further issues were the Youth Olympic Winter Games, which are planned to be held for the first time in 2012, and the construction of the luge and bobsleigh track in Sochi, venue of the XXII. Olympic Winter Games in 2014.
At the end of the meeting, Fendt gave a special edition of the three-volume book set „50 years FIL“ with a personal dedication to the Belgian IOC President.
