Inaugural visit of Bosnia-Herzegovina at FIL headquarters Berchtesgaden (pps) The newly appointed leaders of the Russian Luge Federation, headed by President Leonid Gart, paid an inaugural visit to the President of the International Luge Federation, FIL, Josef Fendt. Gart was accompanied by Executive Director Sergey Shvidenko and Alexander Shakhnazarov, “father” of the artificially-iced luge track in Paramonovo, just outside of Moscow. Among the topics that were discussed was the state of affairs regarding the première of a Viessmann Luge World Cup event on Russia’s first artificially-iced track at the beginning of February next year. Additionally, the Russian delegation gave an update on the recently built refrigerated start in Paramonovo, which will be open throughout the year to all nations for training purposes. Another topic that was raised were the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. Senad Omanovic, President of the Luge Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina also paid a visit to the FIL headquarters. Main issue of his discussions with Josef Fendt was the still difficult structuring of the national luge federation.
